Imaging Features of Osteonecrosis of the Femoral Head
Imaging studies are paramount in the diagnosis and treatment planning of femoral head osteonecrosis. Radiography, computed tomography, and magnetic resonance imaging are all valuable diagnostic tools. The imaging characteristics allow for proper staging of ONFH, and certain findings are useful prognostic predictors. It is also important to distinguish ONFH from other entities which may have some overlapping MRI features.
