Achieving a High Performance Operating Room Staff

The evolution of high-performance arthroplasty implants and surgical techniques requires an operating room team geared to address the accelerated expectations of these modern practices. By critically addressing several key questions about oneself and one’s practice, the surgeon can play a key role in the move to a high-performance operating room staff environment. The reality of wide variations in surgeons, staffs, and resources means that this article represents a subjective analysis whose conclusions be applied on a case-by-case basis. This review highlights the components and pitfalls in the process of creating a high-performance operating room.
